About the Alliance
The DHHS Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation formed by South Baltimore community residents to partner with our local public high school (Digital Harbor High School) to produce an always better product of qualified, motivated young people preparing for professional careers. A DHHS diploma certifies a graduate meets all Maryland State requirements; fulfills the requirements for one of four Computer Technology tracks (Programming and Software Development, Interactive Media and Video, Information Systems and Support Services and Networking Systems); and requires that the student apply for college-level training.
Our job is to draw together community members (individuals, businesses, and technical companies) who have an interest in the success of this school and its students. We will work with the school to define the needs and the mechanisms for community involvement; we will work with community members to facilitate their participation in whatever way is appropriate for them.
Membership is open to the public.
Our organizational cycle is geared to the school year. Our fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. An annual membership meeting for election of officers and reporting on the status of the organization is held each October. Our program activity has two points of emphasis. In the fall we focus on getting the community (local and Maryland technical) involved with the new round of students; in the spring we focus on the annual DigiBall fundraiser for scholarships and other support.
For the time being there are three ways to get in touch with us. If you just want to register interest, fill out the form on this website and we will get back to you. Also, you can send an Email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or if you are one of those folks that operates best on the phone, don’t hesitate to call 410-625-9166 (Jonnie-Kay McLean).
